Lakeside Development is committed to improving the well-being of future generations by providing high-quality homes and access to quality outdoor spaces. A further two new playgrounds will be coming to Te Kauwhata, at Lakeside. Last year, we engaged with Mana Whenua, local schools and the wider community on the overall themes, playground equipment, planting and other amenities within these play spaces. The initial concept plans for both playgrounds were presented during these sessions. Main themes that came out of the engagements:
- Spaces that are adventurous.
- Kopapa type see saw.
- Half basketball court for youth.
- Add storytelling as part of surface.
- Safety measures - fencing.
- Variety of play equipment’s, inclusive play spaces.
- Trampolines, carousels, hexogan swings etc.
Feedback from these sessions has informed the current draft concept plans, which were shared with the wider community during our Lakeside Information Day, on Saturday 1st April 2023. During the event, we checked that we heard you correctly, and asked for any additional feedback before a final plan is prepared.
